The R&B singer-songwriter’s third LP, “Finally Over It,” released Nov. 14, arrived as the final entry in a trilogy that includes her 2019 debut “Over It” and her 2021 sophomore album “Still Over It.” The new project spans 55 minutes of music across 18 tracks, split evenly between two discs with the first nine songs labeled “For Better” and the second half called “For Worse.” While Walker’s honest lyrics remain engaging across the LP over a variety of nostalgic R&B beats, the overabundance of 13 guest appearances never produces a collaboration on par with her best work.

• The eve of Thanksgiving, New York hosted a party that was a mix of many things – a homecoming, a release party, a surprise, and a sort of communion. Madison Square Garden – the mythical arena where everyone from Springsteen to Harry Styles has claimed the stage – opened its doors to a crowd that looked less like an audience and more like a family reunion. There were flags – plenty of them – Dominican, Puerto Rican, Mexican – and a great sense of collective excitement and pride. The reason for this get together? Romeo Santos and Prince Royce, finally, impossibly, devoutly – together. The two icons of Bachata – nicknamed King and Prince of the genre, respectively – have been covertly working on a 13-track surprise album, keeping everything under wraps until the very last minute. The news dropped officially when Romeo Santos teased a new album on his Instagram. ‘Better Late Than Never’ is an album that has been years in the making – since 2017 to be precise – and traces the careers of

This weekend, however, the Weeknd releases his Hurry Up Tomorrow movie, and it does not appear to be heading in the same direction. I want to stress that I have not seen Hurry Up Tomorrow, which was directed by indie auteur Trey Edward Shults and which stars Jenna Ortega and Barry Keoghan alongside the Weeknd himself. But the early indicators are not good. As I write this, Hurry Up Tomorrow has a robust 16% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Also, someone recorded one scene from the film in a movie theater — don’t do that — and it has gone viral specifically because the Weeknd’s acting is not good.

• Album Review: Ethel Cain - 'Perverts' | None
• Ethel Cain’s newest musical creation retreats into the corners of a darker family of genres: Slowcore, dark wave and occasional noise rock. In providing us with an exceptional nightmare to begin 2025, she proves herself to be a worthy crypt sister to the likes of Lingua Ignota, Uboa, and Converge.

• FKA Twigs released her newest project “EUSEXUA” on January 24, 2025. It’s a dance pop-heavy album with classic Twigs elements like interludes of screechy dissonance and eerie whispers. “EUSEXUA” is definitely a different direction than twigs’ previous work; the production is more minimal, and the project feels more accessible overall. With earlier works like “EP2” […]

• The music of Oneohtrix Point Never (wonderful musician/producer Daniel Lopatin) is and remains elusive. Always captured in a surprising concept, the albums are full of intriguing sounds and atmospheres. For his new album Tranquilizer, he sought new inspiration in a selection of bootleg DVDs of American advertisements from the 1980s and 1990s. New inspiration because […]

• FKA Twigs Is In Her Wellness Bag on EUSEXUA | Tirhakah Love | None
• I've been living inside FKA Twigs's new album, EUSEXUA, for the last week and there are so many lessons to glean in so many aspects of our journeys. The one that speaks to me most prominently is not just seeking out moments of transcendence and solace even if temporary. But that these moments can be conjured up from within us if we prime our bodies and spirits for them. I wrote about that in the latest entry of my newsletter which you can check out here! https://lnkd.in/g9zGsA6U
• Finally Over It: How to Turn Your Story into a Strong Rollout (Summer Walker Album Case Study) | Qyana Agina | None
• I lost FOUR subscribers from my newsletter a couple of weeks ago. My first reaction? UGHHHHH. It stung for a second. It made me question: “Is this landing? Did I pivot too hard??” Then I got curious. Instead of stressing about the loss, I asked: What am I not doing yet that would make the right people stay? Here’s what clicked: ▪️I shifted my focus -- working with artists on brand elevation and helping brands connect through music marketing vs. general marketing services for small businesses. ▪️So the theme shifted too -- from broad marketing to music biz + music marketing insight. Naturally, some folks tapped out. That’s fine. So I tightened the message. Got clearer. Created a new lead magnet, a rollout overview of Summer Walker’s latest album, "Finally Over It". That single resource brought in EIGHT new subscribers 🎉🎊 Now, that number may be small to you, BUT when you’re building something from scratch, people opting in because they care hits different. Growth doesn’
